Luis Fernandez aka @LuieGo is a multi-talented musician, visual artist, and jack-of-all trades based in bustling New York City. His bilingual rhymes and ability to bend his cadence and flow “au BasedGod” has allowed him to find his own unique voice in an overly-saturated world of hip-hop music.

Of Dominican origin, Fernandez has moved all over, making friends and conquering the ears of listeners throughout the world. You can still find him rapping with the diverse artists of Dark World in Amherst, Massachusetts, but his own label eGOmaniAKs has now morphed into Ugly Family, which is both a creative collective and record label. On top of his music and visual art grind, Fernandez has crafted some of the most beautifully minimalist merchandise, embroidered with the word “ugly” that you can check out and purchase below:

Where does LuieGo? Wherever the wind takes him. Born in Dade County, Florida, transported to the Dominican Republic, and then flown out to the wilderness of Massachusetts, he now calls the city that never sleeps, New York City, his home. He “feel[s] very rooted [t]here, at peace and [has] found it very easy to create at all times…being in a place where most people around [him], in some way, shape, or form, are artistically trying to grow their art at all times is very comforting to [him], Fernandez said.

As he stated in an email, “it’s the idea of not feeling alone like I did back home where there was only a handful of artists…[that] makes me feel like I’m a small fish in a big pond, and I have to work a million times harder, and it pushes me to take my craft seriously knowing that there’s a billion people around me doing what I’m doing.

The project I’m working on right now is bilingual. It’s taken me some time to write, but it helps me feel closer to home, and the closer I get to finishing the album, it’s really a body of work that reflects who I am and where I come from, and I’m super excited to show people this side of me, a side of me that would never have come to light if it wasn’t for me moving to LA. I’ve always been passionate about helping people and working extremely hard for what I love, and that will never change,” he disclosed.

Challenging himself and ensuring that he’s constantly grinding, Fernandez has promised a regular release while this quarantine is still in effect. He also has a Lil B feature on his track Mi Primo that you can listen to below. And, if that wasn’t enough, LuieGo has toured with New York emcee Wiki and calls him a friend and confidant. If you haven’t heard of him, you’re missing out and sleeping on his talent.
We can’t wait until the project drops, but in the meantime, we have these tracks of his to show you:
